Happy 2 Months

We have made it! I feel like I am beginning to get the hang of this wonderful gift of mommyhood. And by hang of it, I mean sometimes I still don't get my teeth brushed until lunch time and there is always spit up somewhere on my person. I am truly enjoying my little bundle of joy and cannot believe how much she has grown in one month. Her latest stats are: 11.8 lbs, 22 1/2 inches, and 15 1/4 head circumference. She has outgrown all of her newborn clothing and is pushing out her 0-3, namely for her length. She smiles and talks all the time. Her favorite times of day are bath time and daddy time. She is quite enamored with her Papa. I have not touched my Rosetta Stone, nor made it to the gym yet. I am not ready to take her to the nursery up there, so my only option is 5:30 in the a.m. for now. I have done it before and once you get in the swing of it, it is possible. It's just the first few weeks that are a bit hellacious! Our little family unit is doing well and so thankful to the Lord for this sweet season. Enjoy the pics!

Hello world! Do you like my underpants?

I thought I would give cloth diapering a try. "Why" do you ask? For one, it is better for our environment and two, it is better for my sweet baby's bottom. There are so many different types available, and they aren't anything like the old school ones. They still have those too, but these are much easier and do not require soaking. I am giving BumGenius, Kissaluvs, and Kushies a try first. Of course, we will be keeping disposables on hand for travel and afternoon's out, but I just wanted to try it for myself, especially since I am now a S.A.H.M. So here goes and I will keep you posted on our progress. They also say children in cloth potty train much earlier than those that are not. I will keep that in mind for when I don't think it is as enjoyable. Enjoy the pics and your week!

Easter day, glad Easter day

This Easter season we have been so blessed. We got to spend time with our little family unit and with both sides of our families. I feel like I have been on a baby cloud nine. I know all mama's are proud of their children, and I am no different. I just feel tremendously blessed to have such a wonderful and precious daughter. Back to Easter....we started off with a wonderful service at church. Sophia and I spent our time listening in the colonnade, because she was a bit fussy. After the service, we went home and changed, grabbed the salad and camera and headed to Jorge and Amy's for lunch. We had a multicultural cuisine including matzo ball soup, butternut squash soup, Venezuelan chicken, arepas, black beans and rice, and strawberry spinach salad. It was delicous! We hung out there with them and our niece Gabi. After that we took Gabi home and headed to my parent's house. We enjoyed a nice quiet visit with them and watched The Boy in the Striped Pajamas. Sad movie, but I had been wanting to see it. We concluded our evening at home together and ever so thankful for our Savior, Christ Jesus who bore our sin on the cross, died and was resurrected, that all who believe in Him would have everlasting life. What love is so great as this? We serve a Risen and Living Savior!! Hallelujah!

Friends and Family

This is our Uncle Blakey! He hates that I call him that, but I have done it for years and he is my baby brother. He is crazy about his nieces and they likewise. We love you Blakester!

Daddy's firsts

I know most Daddy's love their kiddos more than life. It has been such a treat to get to watch Jaime and Sophia together. He adores her and wants to be so careful and to do everything right. She will "talk" and smile at her sweet Daddy, while I get all the serious looks and cries. Little tooter bug. Jaime loves to take her outside, to walk her around, to put her in bed for a good snuggling, and to play his guitar for her (to name a few). He has and is doing such a wonderful job of being a great husband and Daddy. I love him and am tremendously grateful for such a gift. I am looking forward to watching him be the best Daddy to our little Sophia.
